Cheryl Childs
Founder/Trainer/Instructor
Cheryl Childs is a third generation horsewoman following in the footsteps of her Grandfather as a horse trainer. With 48 years of horse experience Cheryl has ridden Western, Hunt Seat and Dressage as well as driven. She has trained both her own horses and clients' horses for the show ring and the trail. She has shown at Class A Horse Shows - as have her training clients. She began instructing in 1989, specializing in Adult Riders. As an instructor/trainer, Cheryl is able to work with both horse and rider. In 2007 Cheryl conducted her first Confidence Building Clinic. Her clients have experienced success in both the show ring and on the trail.
Legacy Training and Cheryl offer something for everyone, all level of riders and discipline whether it's English, Dressage or Western are welcome. Cheryl enjoys working with all breeds of horses including gaited breeds. Cheryl's goal is to improve the horse and human relationship through her methods of training. Cheryl use a her unique method of three phase training whether she is training a horse, training a horses and rider together or conducting a confidence building clinic.

Cathy Childs
Co-Founder/ Assistant Trainer
Cathy Childs has 38 years of horse experience. She came to horses a little later in life than her sister, but is every bit as big of a horse enthusiast as Cheryl. Cathy will tell you " I got tired of being pit crew ( grooming & caring ) so I bought my own horse and began riding". Cathy has shown a little, done a lot of trail riding and, like her Grandfather, loves driving horses.
Cathy is a big part of Legacy Training , assisting with training clinics. Cathy works with clients on their ground work as well as teaching them massage methods. Cathy is also a talented Equine Photographer and is our official photographer. She also does the marketing and promotions for Legacy Training.
